@TheKATON666 seeing as that a lot of 5.45 is corrosive I would clean it. I clean all my weapons after use AR's my SGLs all of them. Ive gone 2000 rds in a carbine class with an AR no cleaning. The 5.45 actually has less recoil to? me then my AR even more so with the muzzle break.

Ar15 and ak74 = ...
Ar15 and ak74 = same recoil, 556 and 545 have similar accuracy and flight pattern. HOWEVER! ar15 is up a notch or 2 above the ak74 when it comes to accuracy. This is only really noticeable out to about 100 yards. Ak74 is WAY more reliable, and WAY more durable. When I was in the Army, we had confiscated many weapons in Afghanistan one being an ak74. Rather have one of them than my carbine. Arsenal makes SGL31 LOVE? IT. Havnt cleaned with 2000 rounds through it. Ar = every 400 rounds.

I think you are stuck back in time ! The Ak is a s**ty hunk of junk compaired to todays modern small arms . The Ak is so out dated today just 55 terrorist and African country's use that junk of junk AK. The M4 and M16 are now? used in 3x more country's today than the Ak and thats a fact you can count on the web sits of Colt,FN. Bushmaster and so many other makers of AR's and M4 M16's. Even FSU country's are scraping their s**ty AK's for M4's or German weapons.

@916makamento Krebs(over priced but nice) arsenal Sgl series (nice? slightly high priced) any norinco(best bang for buck) wasr(steer clear unless you really know what to look for or have gunsmith skills) maadi(good luck finding one but great as well) you really won't find a Russian "AKM" by name unless you get a tax stamp and pay asinine prices. I'd say go with an SGL they are made in izhmash with same tooling used for the mil version AK's

Besides select fire modern Arsenal/krebs AK variants are made in the same izhmash factory and mostly the FCG, furniture, muzzle break are the only changed us parts....you have no idea what your talking about do you.

@916mackamento the absolute best you could go for would probably be an AKM. Theyre common and even better than? the original AK-47. It all depends on your price range type 56, wasr10, pm63, are all decent ak copies. Saiga makes very good aks as well. But above all, if you can, get an AKM

@Pule3 other weapons just as reliable as the ak? No. Otherwise they wouldve had a bunch of hype surrounding them because of? that. No weapons made today are as simple on the inside as the ak. Its 65 years old and its still the best assault rifle in the world.

As for the "AK bullet" you mean the 7.62x39 thats used in a s**tLOAD of firearms and was around BEFORE the AK? The reason there are a lot of them is because they were cheap when they were made and they are cheap now and cheap = plentiful. So learn a few things? before you post bs. The AK is an amazing weapon, but you have no clue about why.

Ug, no. ANY other assault rifle using the short stroke gas? piston is just as reliable as an ak. There are a lot of better assault rifles. The ak is old and outdated. It's just cheap. That's the only advantage and don't say the round because that round is used in A LOT of rifles.

@Vakicom not really. The ak is accurate up to 300m and the common firefight distance doesnt exceed 100m so accuarcy isnt a big problem. And it? doesnt matter why it was adopted statistics still show it has killed more people than any other weapon system in the world and it has the best combat record of any firearm in history.

you are not completely right. ??-47 very old assault rifle. He has arrived on arms of Red Army in 1949. From AK-47 it's much more difficult to shoot and hit the mark. AK-47 Was widely adopted in the world because it very cheap in manufacture and very reliable. Correctly to compare ?16 with ???? or AK-74.
